Location can play a very important factor as well. Although workplace laws for major corporations tend to be universal, some regions tend to be less tolerant of others when it comes to such things as religious expression. As for the Merry Christmas thing, political correctness can be a pain, but it tends to be done with good intentions. Obviously if you know someone of a particular religion then you will give them the appropriate seasonal greeting, but when you try to market to everyone in the United States it can be a bit trickier. Saying "Happy Holidays" tends to work, and as far as I'm concerned works pretty well as a blanket statement. It's great that we live in such a diverse nation, but sometimes diversity can be a double-edged sword when conflicting values meet strong-willed people.
Good to hear. Hopefully this will force people to stay honest, and keep money where it belongs. The occasional e-mails asking to assist in off-shore account transfers and social networking messages asking for private information get annoying fast.
It would be nice to do so, but unfortunately when one constantly has the threat of nuclear weapons, people tend to take notice.
Yeah. Many hackers and spammers view cases like this as a challenge. Let them build a bigger wall so we can have fun proving our technical genius and destroy it, so to speak. Unfortunately this may only prove to be a temporary solution.
Yeah, I think the senior executives can do without a few luxuries while the economy recovers. Still, I think the government should be able to step in, but only under the most extreme of circumstances. I'm no fan of dictatorship, but at the same time someone needs to tell these execs that they are wasting money. Who better to do so then the government that gave them the money they are burning on themselves?
It's good that so many people have responded to the request for tips, but unfortunately it can have the opposite effect. 100 good tips are better than 1,000 noncredible ones, but in a case like this you need every tip you can get. I sincerely hope that they find the person responsible and soon before he gets away, or worse, starts another pattern.
Catching a ride with a paparazzo? Ouch, that couldn't have been fun for Pitt. I suppose he's used to dealing with them as a celebrity, but still. Regardless, motorcycle accidents don't tend to be something that one can just walk away from. From the sounds of it, he got pretty lucky that he didn't suffer any serious injuries.
A tricky situation to be sure. I'm glad to hear that this painful case is finally reaching new ground in the legal system, but unfortunately it doesn't sound like the best possible resolution can be reached. While they might have enough to at least charge the main culprits responsible, it sounds like pressing the trial too much further will cause a lot of undo stress on the poor children that were directly impacted by the polygamist sect.
Yeah, it is a bit early to say whether or not the Droid will be as successful as the ads suggest. Once you have a revolutionary hit like the iphone, it can be tough to dethrone it, especially once it begins to establish itself. See the Game Boy for example. Many "game boy killers" have emerged on the scene only to fall by the wayside in the two decades the system has been out. It wasn't until a few years ago when the PSP emerged on the scene that the Game Boy has seen any real competition.
It will be interesting to see what the final verdict of the investigation will be. Personally, I don't see these pilots flying a plane again anytime soon if ever, or at the very least working together. @Rwahrens: great point about situational awareness, I didn't consider that. Specific wording can really bring about nasty consequences when one considers the interpretation.
Ballot stuffing appears to be the big cause based on initial reports. Although the exact figures have yet to be determined, a re-vote looks likely unless Karzai moves to block the notion after it is announced. Unfortunately it could cause some serious trouble in creating political stability in the country, which would delay peacekeeping efforts.

He needs 51 votes to pass the bill. He needs 60 only in the event of a filibuster. While this may be a technicality, it is a fact and it would be nice if we were able to deal in facts at least in so
