Twitter, the popular social-networking Web site, may be coming to a TV near you, reports the Seattle-Post Intelligencer.
Twitter will be teaming up with Reveille Productions and Brillstein Entertainment Partners to create a reality TV show, where contestants will competitively trail celebrities, the Seattle-Post Intelligencer reported.
“It captures what’s best about Twitter, and it’s a compelling TV show in its own right,” Noah Oppenheim, head of unscripted development for Reveille Productions, told the Associated Press.
Reveille Productions has a good record of producing reality TV shows, such as The Biggest Loser and American Gladiators. It also produces The Office, The Tudors and Ugly Betty.
While there is no official network deal to do the show, Oppenheim told the Associated Press that once Twitter is picked up, the show will be ready to go into production.
Twitter was founded in 2007 and went from 475,000 visitors in February 2008 to 7 million a year later, reported the Associated Press.
