In the aftermath of the long-running Minnesota senate race against Al Franken, Norm Coleman has filed a formal election contest less than 24 hours after Franken is declared the new senator of Minnesota.
The move did not come as a shock to anyone who's been following this election.
After nearly 3 million votes had to be hand-counted as a reaction to the questionable rejection or inclusion of a variety of absentee ballots, Coleman and his legal team continue to be faced with more obstacles. While Coleman maintains that this hand recount was unnecessary to start with, he now suggests that there are votes that have "been counted and some have been counted twice," according to the Washington Post. Whether there is evidence to back up these claims is yet to be seen in the coming month, as this senate race continues to go undecided.
