Anne Pressly, a Little Rock, Ark., anchorwoman, was found beaten nearly to death in her bed Monday morning.
According to MSNBC, police are searching for a motive as friends and family describe her as a wonderful person with no enemies.
Little Rock police spokeswoman Cassandra Davis spoke with Matt Lauer on the Today show saying Pressly may have been attacked because of her celebrity or perhaps was the victim of a random break-in. Davis said Pressly’s purse and other personal items were missing from her home.
Davis said that police are also considering the possibility of a stalker, but went on to say, “We do not have any police reports in our department in reference to any stalking. We are talking to co-workers and family and friends and trying to determine if there was anybody that had an unusual interest in Miss Pressly.”
“It’s so hard for everybody right now; so hard for her family, so hard for her friends,” Pressly’s friend, Mallory Hardin told Today show’s Matt Lauer. “She’s touched so many in this community. . . . There’s so much grieving, so much sorrow in this town for a girl who is so loved.”
