According to Daily News, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, in a political power play, hopes to overturn the city's term limits law and seek a third stint in City Hall, a source said Tuesday.
The two-term incumbent plans to announce his candidacy on Thursday, the source said.
Before Bloomberg could run, he would need to overturn the city's 15-year-old term limits law, which limits him to two terms as mayor. Under that law, he would leave office at the end of 2009.
Well of course it's a power play - it's a play to retain power. Frankly, compared to the malicious and terrifying tactics of the former New York Governor, if New Yorkers like their current mayor, let them elect him once more.
