A 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck just off the coast of Okinawa at about 3:31 p.m. ET on Saturday according to CNN.
The earthquake’s epicenter was about 53 miles off the coast of Okinawa in the Pacific Ocean. According to CNN, witnesses said that the affects of the earthquake were felt for about 15 seconds in Okinawa.
Lt. Col. Daniel King of the U.S. Pacific Command told CNN that military commanders are currently in the process of gathering death and damage information from Okinawa-based US military outposts. Currently, no deaths have been reported.
Immediately after the earthquake hit, Japanese authorities issued a tsunami warning to the Amami Islands, the Tokara Islands, and the Okinawa Islands.
However, the warning was quickly retracted in a statement by the Japanese Meteorological Agency, as there was no reported damage. The statement did warn that "there may be slight sea level changes from now on” in the affected islands.
Shaking your baby until it suffers an injury is a crime, and rightly so. However, if God shakes his misbehaving children until they die and suffer horrible injury, it is apparently evidence of His grace. Or at least that is the case in the mind of some of His inventors.
I am getting so sick of these so called Men of God who spew hate. I hope there is a special ring of hell for them and their bigoted, self-inflated followers.
Given that men invent their gods, it should come as no surprise that persons who hate invent gods that hate. Persons who prefer love invent gods that love. One must be given to wonder whether the entity that may have created the universe has either the inclination or capability to either love or hate humans.
I had not heard about those comments, they're completely insane. I was raised Catholic--now I'm an atheist--and I was never taught that God was a vengeful being intent on smiting those whom he doesn't like. By publishing comments like that, it makes me feel as though those people are missing the point of their faith in general. That is to say, I was taught growing up that the overall message of Christianity was "love thy neighbor" and things of that nature. These people are just spewing hate and using religion as an "infallible" source for that hate.

I think they may be wrong, especially since God in his grace saw to spare the lives of the people of that island.
I'm glad no one was hurt. I have quite a few friends there.
