Apple's reviews process has caused high-profile developer Rogue Ameoba to leave the iPhone application market. Rogue Ameoba is the firm responsible for making the Airfoil software for the iPhone.
The developer cited long and unnecessary delays in Apple's review process as one of the main reasons for the withdrawal. Paul Kafasis, chief executive of Rogue Ameoba, explained that a simple bug fix for their program took entirely too long to be approved.
“We wanted to ship a simple bug fix, and it took almost four months of slow replies, delays, and dithering by Apple. All the while, our buggy, and supposedly infringing version, was still available. There’s no other word for that but ‘broken,’” Kafasis stated on his blog.
Rogue Ameoba is not the only developer to leave over frustrations with Apple. A Facebook for iPhone app also left Apple the day before.
