Civilian police officer Sergeant Kimberly Munley is being described as a hero and praised for her noble efforts to put an end to the tragic Fort Hood killings that resulted in the deaths of 13 people yesterday. Guardian.co.uk is reporting that Sergeant Munley arrived on the scene once she had been informed of the shooting rampage that had been taking place at Fort Hood. She promptly rushed into the building, confronted gunman Nidal Malik Hasan and opened fire on him as he turned a corner.
Although she was wounded in the altercation, Sergeant Munley shot the gunman four times to subdue the gunman and prevent any more fatalities from occurring. She reportedly opened fire on Army psychiatrist Nidal Malik Hasan from just a few feet away and she acted with fearless aggression to put an end to the tragedy. According to The New York Daily News, Sergeant Munley is currently in stable condition and she spent last night wanting to learn about the casualties.
Fort Hood Lieutenant General Bob Cone explained how proud he was of Sergeant Munley’s heroic efforts by saying, “It was an amazing and an aggressive performance by this police officer. She walked up and engaged him. She is one of our most impressive young police officers". Cone went on to describe that Munley learned the importance of acting with aggressiveness during her training since aggressive action generally results in less fatalities.
