Radovan Karadzic, former Bosnian Serb political leader, finally appeared at his own trial on Tuesday after nearly a week of delays, the BBC reported.
Karadzic, who has chosen to represent himself in his trial for war crimes, claims that he attended the proceedings as a "status conference" in order to receive information on procedural nature of the trial, rather than a part of the actual beast. His prosecutors, however, acted as though it was simply the fourth day in what looks to be a rather lengthy trial, and the first actual appearance of the accused.
Karadzic has nearly two million pieces of evidence stacked against him in the case, nearly half of which are documents which he created himself.
During the content of the proceedings, Karadzic merely once again asked for more time, citing the volume of the material he has to become familiar with in order to defend himself. A decision to that effect will be made by the end of the week.
