The Obama administration revealed a partial list of prominent figures that have visited the White House for meetings and tours on Friday. Celebrities, such as Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney, visited the White House earlier this year, in addition to business executives, including Bill Gates and Ed Yingling.
"Consistent with our earlier announcement that we will only release records 90 days or older, this first batch covers the period of time between January 20, 2009 to July 31, 2009," according to a statement on the administration's website. "Future batches will be posted on an ongoing basis."
The release of the list sets a new precedent for the White House; such a document has not been released before. The list was released in response to the many requests by media groups.
