A series of floods and resulting landslides in the Philippines have already killed a confirmed 225, with more expected, the BBC reported.
The flooding and landslides have occurred in the aftermath of Typhoon Parma, which hit the Philippines on October 3rd, less than a week after the nation had been ravaged by tropical storm Ketsana. Parma had moved slowly along the coastline until late Friday night, when it moved away from the country.
The government reports that it may take months for the flooding in wetters areas to recede.
Combined, the two storms have killed at least 600 people, with many more remaining missing.
According to government officials, over 300,000 villagers remain displaced or in shelters. The United Nations has already called out for at least $74 million dollars in emergency aid.
