Authorities arrested 30-year-old Jacob Shaffer of Fayetteville, Tennessee, on Saturday, for the alleged murders of six people, including his wife, CNN reports. The wife's son, father, and brother were also among the victims.
Shaffer's wife, Traci Shaffer, 38, her son, Devin Brooks, 16, and Brooks' friend and neighbor, Robert Berber, also 16, were reportedly all found dead at a Fayetteville home. Two other victims, Traci Shaffer's father, Billy Hall, 57, and her brother, Chris Hall, 34, were said to be found at another home on the same street.
According to CNN, medical examiners will release the causes of death after autopsies are conducted on Sunday.
Authorities discovered a sixth person dead at a business in Huntsville, Alabama, approximately 30 miles away from the Tennessee crime scenes. The sixth victim's identity has not yet been disclosed.
Lincoln County sheriff's deputies reportedly found Jacob Shaffer in one of the Fayetteville homes upon their arrival there Saturday. It appears that the deaths occurred either Friday night or Saturday and were related to a domestic dispute.
The details regarding the death in Huntsville remain unclear.
"We have no clue yet as to what unfolded there and how it relates to here," said Huntsville Police Sgt. Mickey Allen.
Although Shaffer's name was not used, Allen confirmed that a man has confessed to a murder in Huntsville, as well as five killings in Fayetteville.
Shaffer, who was held in the Lincoln County Jail without bond on Saturday, faces five counts of criminal homicide if convicted for the Tennessee slayings.
