There are tons of movies out right now but have you seen any REALLY good ones lately?
I am also up for renting if you can suggest some good rentals. I am tired of spending my money and having to sit through or sleep through a movie.
Help....!

lol - Jen, I have the same problem. I am actually renting from netflix - of course, it doesn't help that I have been hanging on to three movies, unwatched as of yet, for the past three weeks. I might watch at least one of them today. I need to go change my queue line, too, on the movies. Thanks for the reminder.

I hear you all about a ton a movies but who wants to waste money on the many bad ones. I got around that problem by signing up on a few websites for FREE movie screenings. I generally view a new movie any where from a few days to a couple of weeks before a release date. In the LA area there is virtually a couple of free movies playing every week night. These are not schlock films, but the very best of what is being produced. And this isnt one of those situations where you have to fillout a survey card afterwards. The studios are hoping for good word of mouth on their films. Last week I saw the Diane Keaton film. Tonight I have tix for the Eddie Murphy flic and tomorrow night I am seeing the Barrymore & Hugh Grant movie. And these are just the ones within 15 minutes of my home. If I wanted to travel 45 minutes I could see several more. I watch at least 2 movies each week and havent paid for an actual tix in over 2 years. Let me know if you are interested and I'll post potential website. It is fun to go to work the next day and have "bragging rights" on an unrelease film.

Robert - why don't you post the website anyways? Teasing people about getting to see releases like that is not fair. Of course, people are going to be interested.

At the very bottom you will find the free screenings link.
EW's Latest Freescreenings:
http://www.ew.com/ew/freescreening
The above site is now offering screening tickets for The Perfect Stranger at 10 locations sometime in April. While I'm within an hour of NYC, the cost and aggravation of traveling into the city isn't worth 2 movie tickets unless its a very special movie. If you have a flexible schedule and live near one of their target cities, advance screenings can be fantastic. Usually if you put your name in, its likely that you will be contacted. Getting a pass is not a guarantee you will get in the theater, so get there early. I've seen screening passes also offered by radio and tv stations also. |

Down the left side are several movies that they will have passes for. Many are vague and you simply enter giving your location and they contact you later with details. Click thru on the top one Live Free or Die Hard and there are instructions to print out the page if you want to attend 28 Mar 7pm in Boston MA. At the bottom is another link to click thru on if you want to attend the 22 Mar showing in Providence RI. Remember to get there early. There's no gaurantee these passes will get you in the theater. |

We didn't like the movie...saw it last weekend and it was too confusing. Jumped back and forth, and we didn't like it.
May go to see Reign Over Me w/ Adam Sandler this weekend. Heard it might be a good one. |

Just saw Reign Over Me this weekend and it was fabulous. The acting was wonderful. Highly recommend the movie!!
I also rent from Netflix and have that same problem of holding onto movies for a couple of weeks without watching them. Got to watch and return quickly to get my money's worth! LOL |

I feel like you do. I'd rather wait until it's on dvd so if hubby wants to see it, and I don't, I can walk out of the room, and get back to the computer! LOL!
With this beautiful so. California weather I hate spending time inside a movie theater when I could be outside in the fresh (cough, cough) smoggy air! |

My hubby and I rented The Number 23 on on demand. That was a weird movie. It is always strange to see Jim play something other than a jokester. That was so much more a serious role. I was surprised. I think I liked it. To see how things begin to take shape to come to a conclusion is alway interesting to me.

I think I would like to see The Mist, and I think the other is called I am Legend. I am a big Sci-FI fan and these look pretty good. I also hope that Legend is not a remake of Omega Man. |

My boyfriend and I recently rented The Reaping with Hilary Swank. It's not a horror movie - it's a thriller. Going into the movie with that in mind, I was impressed. It really was very good and put together quite well!

P.S. I Love You with Hillary Swank and Harry Connick Jr. was a pretty good movie. I just saw that one last weekend. I also liked The Bourne Ultimatum, and the first Bourne Identity too. However, I'm getting a little tired of paying 8 to 9 dollars to see movies at the theaters. Even the afternoon matinees are around 6.50 now. Maybe i'll try Netflix. It could end up being less expensive and more convenient to just watch movies at home. |

Sweeny Todd!!!! Ok, once you forget it is a musical-the movie is great. I like musicals but Johnny Depp does not get me goin by singing. Hottt, great actor, but no singing for me plz. The ending was the greatest part of the film. I just wanted to know what was going to happen. Once I figured it out, something happened that would change my mind. But in the end, it is a must see. |
